In Cheltenham, which has set out its stall to be the cyber capital of the UK, thousands of local children are home-schooling at the moment, and whilst many will have suitable IT equipment, countless others don’t. Without the ability to attend online lessons, or complete homework, their education is at risk.
Even when schools go back, they are increasingly using online platforms for homework so ensuring all our children have access to the right IT equipment gives them the foundations to get the most out of their education.
No Child Left Behind has teamed up with Cheltenham Education Partnership, representing local secondary schools, Cheltenham Learning Partnership, representing local primary schools and IT Schools Africa.
We want to ensure that all our children have the right IT equipment to learn at home and have the opportunity to benefit from digital technology so no child gets left behind

How to donate money
Want to help, but don’t have any devices lying around? You can still support #LaptopsForLearning by donating money.
We are trying to reach a target of £50,000 to help ensure that children across the town have the equipment, software and internet capability to continue their education at home.
FAQs
For donated laptops, no. You don’t have to but you can if you would prefer. Our partners at IT Africa Schools will ‘wipe’ all laptops prior to refurbishment.
With tablets and ipads, please make sure that the user accounts have been deleted and the device is unlocked. Devices cannot be refurbished if the existing user account is still active on the device. Instructions on how to do this can be found here
Each of our collection points has Covid-safe procedures in place which are detailed above (see: ‘where to donate IT equipment’). Please contact the collection point if you have any questions about their procedures.
Please donate working laptops no more than 7 years old, with their power supplies/chargers.
We are working closely with schools across Cheltenham. They will be responsible for communicating directly with families to establish what their barriers to accessing home learning are, and whether they would benefit from the support of #LaptopsForLearning.
If you have any further questions, please email nochildleftbehind@cheltenham.gov.uk or phone 01242 262626
