#CelebratingChildhood recognises projects and organisations that highlight the many strengths and skills of children across Cheltenham, and all the great things they have to offer.
Children's Craft & Creativity
Gloucestershire Libraries saw the need to make learning fun and accessible in the wake of school closures and educational barriers which left children playing ‘catch up’, such as digital exclusion. All activities were free and open to all to give families the chance to tackle social isolation.
Stepping out was Play Gloucestershire’s innovative approach to supporting young people during lockdown. Children in Springbank came together outdoors to safely play games such as hide and seek and hopscotch, get creative with chalks and crafts and look after their local park.
Play 2 Recover
Play 2 Recover was another offer from Play Gloucestershire, which aimed help children and young people
across Gloucestershire as we came out of lockdown. Children have been adversely affected by the pandemic in all aspects of their lives and this child-led outdoor play helped them to cope better with adversity, grow resilience, and have improved emotional wellness and more social connections.
