What we do

See the impact

No Child Left Behind works with partners to deliver training and education opportunities. NCLB have supported various training events reaching children in schools and adults who live and work in Cheltenham.

We think training people is important to help people better understand how to support others and to feel more confident in themselves. Training opportunities will be highlighted through our events page so keep an eye out.

We recognise that free, fun events can help build positive relationships, help share learning and raise awareness of some big issues.

This is why we have held a number of events aimed at children, families and professionals through 2019 and have many more planned for 2020 and beyond.

We will keep you posted about upcoming events.

NCLB aims to raise awareness of issues affecting our children, such as criminal exploitation, period poverty or healthy eating.

Through our social media we will aim to link up with big national campaigns as well as supporting local campaigns about issues affecting our communities.

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to see what’s got us all fired up.

Year of action

Cheltenham partners committed to a year of action in 2019, called No Child Left Behind.

Our aims were:

  • to raise awareness
  • to begin to close the gap, and
  • to work together to make long term change

Unstoppable is a partnership project funded by Gloucestershire County Council whose aim is to deliver free sanitary products to anyone in Cheltenham who needs them.

It was launched during the #ConfidentGirls month of the year of action.

NCLB Community Agreement

The NCLB Community Agreement launched in September 2020, bringing together schools, statutory services, charities and private sector organisations to implement a collective ethos, a way of working day-to-day, that is rooted in kindness and understanding.

The agreement sets out our commitment to families across out town that we will work WITH them, will work in a way that recognises their experiences and that puts compassion at the heart of our practice.

International Women's Day 2021

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2021 (8 March), we asked children to tell us all about women who inspire them – women who have done incredible things, overcome challenges and who encourage you to aim high and reach your own goals.

Kindness at Christmas

Throughout December 2020 NCLB asked school children across our town to think about ‘Kindness at Christmas’. Their artwork, reflecting what kindness at Christmas looked like to them was displayed on the four-storey advent calendar projected on to the front of Cheltenham’s iconic Queen’s Hotel!
